WEBSITE PRIVACY
A little clarity.
About your information.
This page explains the behavior of this public website. Product data processing terms are agreed separately for a deployment.
The introduction form
When you send the contact form, the details you enter are sent to us and kept in our enquiry records so we can reply. They include your name, work email, company and message, anything you chose on the form, the page you sent it from and, if you chose one, the view of the site you selected. Nothing is sent until you press send. If sending is unavailable, the form prepares an email draft instead, and it is shared only when you choose to send that email. Avoid including confidential or sensitive information in an initial introduction.
Viewing the site from your side
If you tell the site who you are, what kind of organisation you work in or how much detail you want, that choice is kept in your browser so the site can stay tailored to you. The view itself (the role, sector, organisation shape and depth you chose, never your name) travels with the site measurement described below, and with the contact form if you send it. You can change it or return to the neutral site from the header at any time, and clearing your browser storage removes it.
Site features and measurement
We measure how this website is used so we can improve it. The measurement is our own: your browser sends it to this website, which passes it to Niello’s analytics service. There are no advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts, and what we measure is not sold or shared with advertisers. Fonts and artwork are served with the website. The hosting provider may process technical request information needed to deliver the site.
What is measured, whatever you choose:
- the pages you open, how long each is on screen and how far you scroll;
- what you click: the link or button, a short description of where it sits on the page and its position, and for a link that leaves the site only the destination’s domain;
- how you use the site’s own features: the view you choose, the interactive studies you use (which control, never its value) and which contact form fields you complete (never what you enter);
- how quickly pages load, and errors the page meets;
- the screen size, light or dark appearance and colour palette, and the country your request came from.
What is never collected:
- anything you type into a field: names, email addresses, messages, searches or the figures you enter in a study (for a search, only its length and the number of matches);
- your IP address: our server replaces it with a one-way, salted fingerprint before anything is passed on;
- your precise location.
There are two modes, and you choose between them:
- Anonymous, until you choose and whenever you decline. Nothing is stored on your device for measurement. Each visit is counted as its own unconnected session, which ends when you reload or leave.
- With your permission, when you accept. Your browser keeps a random device identifier (in local storage, as
niello-device) and an identifier for the visit in this tab (in session storage, asniello-session, renewed after 30 minutes without activity), so return visits join up.
Your choice itself is kept in your browser as niello-consent, which is needed to remember it. If your browser sends a privacy signal (Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track), we honour it: measurement stays anonymous even if you accept.
Individual measurement events are deleted after 90 days. Daily totals, which hold counts and no identifiers, are kept for up to a year.
You can change your choice at any time with Cookie preferences at the foot of every page. . Declining after accepting removes the device and visit identifiers from your browser; clearing your browser storage does the same.
